4 Amazing Dessert Recipes You'll Enjoy Making All the Time

There’s nothing better than a homemade dessert, whether you want to enjoy it yourself or share with friends. So next time you’re craving something sweet, try whipping up one of these four amazing dessert recipes you’ll enjoy making all the time.

1. No-Bake Cherry Cheesecake Bars

No-bake cherry cheesecake bars are a quick, delicious treat that’s pretty enough to share. Use a premade graham cracker crust or create your own by combining 1 ½ cups of graham cracker crumbs, ⅓ cup confectioners’ sugar, and 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Spread it evenly across the bottom of an 8x8 greased baking pan and press into place.

Next, combine 8 ounces of cream cheese and 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar in a large bowl and beat until you achieve a smooth consistency. Add 8 ounces of thawed whipped topping and fold until thoroughly combined. Spread this mixture over the crust, and top with a 21 ounce can of cherry pie filling. Refrigerate for 60 minutes, then cut into bars and serve.

2. Berry Trifle

A berry trifle is a perfect dessert when you want something sweet and refreshing that doesn’t take a long time to make. Use a trifle bowl if you want to make a grand display. Or divide your trifle among individual dessert cups to share with friends. You’ll need 1 angel food cake or pound cake, 1 package of cheesecake flavored instant pudding, along with the amount of milk specified on the package, 1 container of whipped cream, and 1 ½ cups each of blueberries, raspberries, and sliced strawberries.

First, make the pudding according to the package directions. Then, cut the cake into small cubes. Place half of the cake pieces in your trifle bowl(s). Add a layer of pudding, ½ cup of each berry, and a layer of whipped cream. Repeat with the remaining cake, pudding, another ½ cup of each berry, and the remaining whipped cream. Top with the last of the berries. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

3. Puppy Chow

Craving something sweet and crunchy? Whip up a bowl of puppy chow! You’ll need one 12-ounce box of Corn Chex cereal, 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips, 2 cups powdered sugar, ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter, and ¼ cup salted butter.

First, stir together the peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips. Then, melt the mixture by microwaving 30 seconds at a time. Stir after each 30 seconds until the mixture is well-blended and smooth. Next, empty the Corn Chex into a large bowl and add the chocolate mixture. Stir to coat evenly. Then, pour the cereal and powdered sugar into a large plastic storage bag, seal the bag, and shake well. Your puppy chow will stay fresh for up to one week.

Remember, because puppy chow contains chocolate, it’s strictly for humans, despite its name!

Easy Mug Cake

If you enjoy having a single serving of cake now and then, it’s worth keeping box mix around just for this recipe. You’ll need 6 tablespoons of cake mix (any flavor!), 4 tablespoons of water, and 2 teaspoons of oil, cooking spray, plus any toppings you like.

Start by spraying an 11-ounce microwave-safe mug with cooking spray. Then add the cake mix, water, and oil to the mug and mix well. Microwave for 70-90 seconds. Then, take your cake out of the microwave and let it cool for five minutes. Finally, add your toppings and enjoy!
