New Year's Eve: 5 Televised Celebrations You Can Enjoy from Home

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, and we’re ready to celebrate! Fortunately, with so many options, you can enjoy New Year’s Eve celebrations right from the comfort of your own home. So gather a few friends, put out the snacks, and get ready to party! Here are five televised New Year’s Eve celebrations you can enjoy from home.

1. Canada’s New Year’s Eve: Countdown to 2023

Tune in to your local CBS station at 11 p.m. (11:20p.m. AT and 11:50p.m. NT) to watch Canada's New Year's Eve: Countdown to 2023 celebration. The celebration is hosted by Rick Mercer and includes performances and fireworks televised from across Canada.

This year’s performers include:

  • Devon Cole (Halifax)

  • Leela Gilday (Aurora Village)

  • Vincent Vallières (Quebec City)

The celebration will also be available for streaming via CBC Gem.

2. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest

Looking for a longer celebration? Join our neighbors to the south in celebrating New Year’s Eve. Tune in to ABC or stream via ABC Live for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. This 5.5 hour celebration features popular performers like Jax, New Edition, Duran Duran, and J-Hope. It all starts at 8p.m. ET. There are also New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebrations being broadcast from Disneyland in California, New Orleans, and Puerto Rico, so you’re sure to find a celebration that fits your schedule.

3. Times Square New Year’s Eve

For an even longer event, check out Times Square New Year's Eve, available for live streaming starting at 6p.m. ET. The event includes hourly countdowns, fireworks, musical performances, year-in-review highlights, and more. 

4. Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party

Join Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton for a Miami-based New Year’s Eve celebration airing from 10:30p.m. ET to 12:30p.m. ET on ABC. It will also be available for streaming on Peacock. This year, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will include musicians like Latto, Sia, and Rae Sremmurd. There are also expected to be surprise celebrity guests, so tune in for all the fun.

5. United in Song

If you love musical variety, tune in to PBS for their United in Song celebration. Available through the PBS channel or app, this year’s celebration is all about diversity. And although it’s an American celebration, unity and diversity are things we Canadians find worth celebrating, too! Music from a variety of cultural backgrounds will be featured, including bluegrass, country, Broadway songs, opera, rock, hip-hop, folk music, and more. If you’re looking for a celebration that includes musical styles outside of popular mainstream music, this is the celebration for you. It all begins at 8:00p.m. ET, with an encore performance at 9:30p.m. ET
