This March, Yukon Artists at Work is featuring an installation by Nicole Bauberger called The Party. The event runs from March 3 to 29, so you’ll have plenty of time to stop by. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. And the artist herself will be present at the gallery on Saturdays. Come enjoy the unique experience that is The Party!

2. Visit the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre

The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre (KDCC) is an excellent place to visit if you’re interested in learning about and celebrating the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. It’s open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and interpretive programming is available by request, so gather a group of friends for an incredible time. The KDCC also hosts a sewing circle that is open to the public every Thursday at 5:00 p.m.

3. Try Throat Singing

Want to try something new? How about throat singing? Spend a day with Matthew Kocel learning about throat singing, and try it out for yourself! You’ll learn exercises so you can keep practicing at home, too. Join the immersive experience March 11 from 10:00 to 5:00, but register early! Class size is limited to 25 people.

4. Tour the MacBride Museum

MacBride Museum is a wonderful place to spend the day. There are tons of stimulating exhibits to see, and it’s recently been expanded! Learn about Yukon’s history and wildlife, experience stories from our 14 First Nations, enjoy amazing artwork, and more. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tours are also available but must be booked in advance during the winter.

5. Take a Glass Blowing Class

6. Follow the Percy DeWolfe Memorial Mail Race

The Percy DeWolfe Memorial Mail Race will be held on March 9, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Dawson City. This annual race celebrates the legacy of Percy DeWolfe, who braved the harsh Yukon weather and risked his life to deliver the mail by sled. If you can’t be in Dawson City for the start of the race, you can still cheer on the mushers through the race’s Live Tracking feature.

7. Enjoy a WYRD Musical

Head to the Yukon Arts Center to enjoy a performance of WYRD March 31 at 7:30 p.m. Follow the story of a woman who escapes her abusive lover, wanders into the woods, and comes upon an ancient bog, where she meets three hags.
